Explore National Trust Trelissick Estate
Our Partnerships and Campaign Lead, Flo, recommends the glorious gardens and woodland walk of National Trust Trelissick estate. Immerse yourself in the history of the house, built originally in the 1750s, and have a coffee in the beautiful orangery. A small Callestick ice cream van is usually sat in the courtyard overlooking the creek. You can wander the gardens that have incredible countryside views over to Tregothnan estate (the only tea plantation in England). And if you fancy a longer walk, take the woodland trail around and end up at the small beach. It’s perfect for pebble and sea glass collecting, and paddling in a calm ebb and flow of the River Fal, looking out to St Mawes.
Whilst there is a cafe at the estate, Flo recommends stopping at the Punchbowl and Ladle pub en-route (you can’t miss it’s charming thatched roof along the pretty country lanes). A hearty lunch, indulgent cream tea, or cheeky pint wouldn’t go a miss!

Rowena Cade, the visionary behind The Minack, hailed from an upbringing in a genteel Edwardian family. Inspired by her passion, she undertook the remarkable task of turning a Cornish cliff-face into an open-air amphitheater, constructing much of it with her own hands. Visit this extraordinary and iconic venue to craft enduring memories, bask in breathtaking coastal vistas, and immerse yourself in captivating storytelling. It’s a delightful experience that the entire family can enjoy.
