One Skidden, St Ives Town & Beaches - Sleeps 8

This is a home that really sparkles. As soon as you step through the front door, you are wrapped up in creative design with a Cornish townhouse feel. Enter into the reception area where a crackling log burner sets the calm holiday scene. To the left hand side is an inviting snug with sofas to sink into. Reminiscent of halcyon seaside days, summery colour palettes, original coastal artwork and eclectic Cornish knicks-knacks adorn these laid-back social spaces. 

The kitchen and dining room are just behind the living area, inviting guests to indulge in Cornwall's finest produce over lazy breakfasts and wholesome suppers. When bellies are full and night draws in, head to the first floor where an atmospheric cinema room promises an immersive viewing experience. On the same floor is a gorgeous, fresh bedroom with pastel blue tones and a juliette balcony with partial sea view. A family bathroom with fun tiled flooring and walk-in shower completes the first floor layout. Lead up to the second floor and you'll find the final two bedrooms - both offering sea and harbour views amongst the St Ives rooftops - and an indulgent shower room. The outside space at One Skidden is a real bonus with a circular terrace surrounded by coastal planting. 

Located between the town’s two main beaches, at One Skidden you are immersed in coastal life. The powdery white sands and shimmering azure waters of Porthminster Beach are just a few moments walk away, while the wild, rolling waves of Porthmeor are a less than 10 minute amble from your holiday door. Carve through waves, laze on the sand, and in mid-winter, enjoy the drama of Atlantic swells. 

From One skidden, stroll into St Ives’ bustling heart, where fishing boats set sail and pleasure boats glide by. At the harbourfront, take your pick of first-class restaurants, characterful pubs and stylish bars, and peruse the chic galleries and delightful independent shops at a slower, Cornish pace. 

Some of Cornwall’s most beautiful natural scenery and vibrant culture resides in St Ives, and is accessible on foot whilst staying at One Skidden. However, if the wilder scenes of West Cornwall call you, there is plenty of adventure and raw beauty to be embraced beyond this pretty town and harbour. 

The Penwith Peninsula is an enchanting spot. There’s a designated Dark Sky Park - ideal for packing a flask and spotting constellations over the sea - and the area is littered with prehistoric settlements and hillforts. Jutting out into the Atlantic, this peninsula is exposed to all of Nature’s moods; from lazy summer days at sandy Sennen Cove, to winter dips in Penzance’s 35 degree geothermal Jubilee pool, this is a destination that shines in every season. The sights of Mousehole, Newlyn, and St Michaels Mount are all within easy reach.
